The 70,000 square foot central park can be programmed in many ways. The surrounding 25,000 square foot arcade adds to the programming possibilites.
Up to 90,000 square feet of sky-lit interior space surrounds the central park and creates many unique opportunities, as well as revenue potential to help fund Rotary Park’s operation.
40,000 square feet of small parks at street level are protected from traffic and create intimate, sheltered spaces.
And finally, the curved roadway walls can serve as signage or be a drive-by art venue seen by cars entering the city.
The different spaces of Rotary Park interact with each other, creating layered and unexpected experiences for visitors.
In the short term, we want to bring attention to the Holland Tunnel Rotary by installing temporary art and staging temporary events that showcase the site’s potential.
